The Sound of My Childhood
There are sounds that live in us long after the moment has passed. An ice-cream van’s melody. Distant laughter. A song from another room.
Sound carries memory in a way nothing else can. It doesn’t ask permission; it just returns, sometimes when you least expect it.
If you listen closely, you might hear who you used to be.
This week’s exercise:
Sit quietly and ask yourself: what sound reminds me of childhood? Stay with the first one that comes. Write where it takes you.
